Product design for CRU
This thesis constitutes my Final Degree Project, developed in fulfillment of the requirements for the completion of my Bachelor's degree. It reflects the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired throughout my academic studies.
Cru project stems from the idea of innovating within the field of furniture–body relationships. It consists of three products through which the user develops a series of movements and positions. Cru aims to be identified as a new typology of furniture, referred to as “complements of inhabiting,” in which the user is understood according to their “pure needs” and is encouraged to interact viscerally with the surrounding environment.
The “complement of inhabiting” embraces the influence of the philosophy of “inhabiting the world” and the idea of caring for oneself through a product that the user both needs and finds emotionally fulfilling. All these sensations are tied to a growing need in contemporary society: the possibility of transporting this element wherever the user may be, allowing the object itself to create the space of habitare.
